Unity in Greensboro Welcomes You

There’s no question we’re living in a time of great spiritual awakening. Whether inspired by guests on the Oprah Winfrey Show or through movies like “The Secret” or by best-selling authors such as Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle or Marianne Williamson, more and more people are beginning to realize that spirituality is the “missing piece” in their lives. Yet, many are not finding the kind of spiritual community and teachings they’re looking for in traditional churches.

Unity is different! Unity makes sense. Unity is a positive, practical, spiritual teaching that embraces all faiths and recognizes the intrinsic worth of every human being. No matter what religious or lifestyle path led you here, we're glad you're here. In Unity we believe there is only one God, but many paths to God. We know our diversity is our strength. Whether you end up becoming a member of our church or simply attending our services, classes and events, you are welcome.

Unity in Greensboro is a dynamic and exciting place where you can connect with people of like mind and heart while you grow spiritually and create an abundant and fulfilling life. We are passionate about living the message of Jesus and we are dedicated to being an authentic community. We also embrace the message of Gandhi ... that we must BE the peace we wish to see in the world.

Are you ready for a new way of living? Then ... please come visit and feel the difference for yourself.

A Prayer for Unity In Greensboro

A Church In Transition

We honor the essence of our name – Unity. We see God everywhere and in everyone.

We are a church that honors everyone who walks through our doors. We remove the barriers between men and women, between the young and old, between gays and straights, between rich and poor, and between all races. We have all risen from the same Source, and we recognize each person as wonderfully unique.

We are brothers and sisters – divinely inspired by spirit to see the beauty and radiance in each other – no matter the cuts and bruises that we may have gotten along the way.

While we cannot take away the pain that sometimes comes with life, we will hold each other with love and compassion.

Our purpose as a church is to be a sanctuary – a holy place of God. We are a church where each one of us can, and must, be true to our inner selves. We will help each other to grow as spiritual warriors, seeking truth. We exist to help each other create the life that seeks to be lived through us.

We walk in Christ’s light. We choose to be the light. Wherever we are, God is, and all is well.

Upcoming Speakers
This Sunday, May 19
Dr. Elizabeth R. Vaughan, MD

How I Learned What Healing Really Is

Dr. Vaughan has been a licensed physician since 1979. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University in 1975, with Distinction in Chemistry, and earned her medical degree at the University of Virginia, graduating in 1979. She then completed a flexible internship and a residency in Internal Medicine at Southwestern Michigan Area Health Education Center in Kalamazoo, MI, in 1982.
During the first third of her medical career, Dr. Vaughan practiced Emergency Medicine in Galax, VA, Lexington, NC, and Martinsville, VA. In 1991, she left emergency medicine and opened the first urgent care center in Martinsville, VA. This quickly expanded into a thriving holistic practice. Though initially trained in traditional allopathic medicine, Dr. Vaughan has developed a more holistic approach to healthcare as a result of her own life experience and close observation of patients’ responses to various treatments. She relocated her practice to Greensboro, NC in December 2002. Dr. Vaughan is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine, the American Board of Emergency Medicine, and the American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicology.

She enjoys her family, a close circle of friends, and her cat. Her personal interests include ballroom dancing, healthy international cooking, the Arts, hiking, jazz and classical music, meditation, travel, and gardening.
